This sand dollar applique rests on a green linen pillow, with a layer of organic cotton batting underneath, giving the applique extra depth. The applique is then hand stitched using a running back stitch. The markings are hand embroidered and copied from a sand dollar found on the beach. The pillow back is also green linen with buttonholes and square bronze sun buttons, so that the pillow cover can be removed for laundering.
