I started making these hemp bags after my daughter and I were talking about the plastic problem when buying and storing produce. But, after having them around for a while, I’ve realized how many other things they can be used for. Granted, tiny pieces will fall through, but sometimes that’s a good thing when you are at the beach and are gathering shells, stones, or toys. That means more sand left at the beach and less in your car! Or if you want to be able to keep items separated.

Or here’s an option to using single-use plastic bags when you are buying your fruits and veggies!! A bag made from 100% hemp mesh, sewn with cotton thread with organic cotton ties. This bag is sewn with yellow thread identifying that this bag is 10” wide and 9 ” deep. The size is made to for general use for any size fruit or veggie, like the green beans that are in the picture. The tie is run through a casing so that the bag can be closed. I have found that dampening the bag before putting in the refrigerator, will help keep the more fragile veggies fresh……..works especially well for lettuce.

This is a medium small size bag of those available, the other sizes are green edge (13” x 17”), blue edge (13”x 13”) and red edge (6”x 5 1/2”).
