After tracing around the leaf for both the size and vein pattern, the applique is cut from a hemp/soy linen fabric and hand stitched to a natural backing of hemp and organic cotton. The background is plain, without any hand quilting texture, so depending on your preference, you might want to press it after laundering. The back of the pillow matches the applique fabric, and overlaps so that the cover can be removed for laundering. The pillow insert is custom made using organic cotton muslin and filled with organic kapok.

There are two other sizes of Monstera leaf pillows, medium and larger. Some of these pillows have a echo quilted background, inspired by Hawaiian quilting techniques. Look for what is available or contact me for further information.
